I don’t care how she fights. I care how she deal I don’t care how she fights. I care how she deals with adversity. I care what she thinks when she sees herself in the mirror. I care how fast she gets up when knocked down, solves problems, deals with failure and never plays the victim. And finally, I care how well she works with others. I have met grown adults who don’t seem to have any idea or attachment to the concept of a team, community or group effort. This is a failure in parenting that should not be happening in this day and age. Jiu Jitsu is the only language I know of that can teach all of this in a positive and controlled atmosphere. Keep them busy, keep them disciplined, keep them smiling 🤗

Want to build more explosive power and challenge y Want to build more explosive power and challenge your balance and coordination? Long jumps from a deep squat have to be about the best I know of to do both at the same time. Keep your hands off the floor and try your best to land with good foot position. Once you get comfortable with the mechanics and balance, it try adding some weight via a vest, barbell or holding a kettlebell 🤙

Not only will you be under a tremendous amount of pressure, but they will likely pass your guard at the same time. Here is a technique that will not only get you out of a bad spot, but also land you in prime position to attack the back.▪️1️⃣ frame step over leg2️⃣ recover x guard3️⃣ disrupt their base4️⃣ elevate their hips 5️⃣ recover frame behind knee6️⃣ sit-up to crab ride 7️⃣ seat belt / take the back

If you want to avoid lower back pain, knee injuries and all of the other problems associated with tight hips, be sure to give this area some love for 20-30 minutes a day. The best part is, all you need a wall 😉 Note the times per stretch, they are important. ▪️Favorite things to do while stretching- meditate(focus on breathing slowly through nose)- read a book- listen to a podcast, music or audible- plan my day

The hip escape is one of the first movements we le The hip escape is one of the first movements we learn in Jiu Jitsu. It’s also one of the most easy moves to get wrong and not know it. I myself did it wrong for years 😝 High hands, dragging my hips, poorly placed feet. I did it all. Take care and minimize bad habits by keeping some of these details in mind. Also like to throw in another movement called the hip shovel. It helps to strengthen the core, warm up the shoulders and break up the monotony▪️- Keep hands & elbows down, close to ribs/hip- Plant your foot firmly, don’t let it slip- Get to your side, shoulders face ground- Get hips off the ground, don’t drag them- Bring bottom knee to your bottom bicep- Keep your head down and heavy

It’s ok to be a work in progress. It’s also ok It’s ok to be a work in progress. It’s also ok to make mistakes, say things you don’t mean and do things you later regret. While some of this foolish world will try and convince you that doing any of the above will forever define you, it will not. All it will ever mean, is that you are human. So if given the choice between making a mistake or doing nothing, always choose the mistake. It is the only infallible process for self discovery and personal growth. Regret is heavy and our backs can only carry so much. Don’t let the past prevent you from doing your best work today. There is no such thing as tomorrow. It is a concept, it does not exist, it never has. What does exist is the example that we set today, because that DOES define us.
